Where Does My Music Come From?
For me, composing music is all about listening. Sometimes it feels like the music is already there, just waiting to be discovered. I like to think that I'm hearing the music of heaven, and that it's my job to bring it to life in a way that will touch people's hearts.
When I sit down to create a new piece of music, I always start with improvisation. It's like composing live, in the moment, and I love the sense of freedom and spontaneity it brings. This is where all the best ideas come from - when you're in the flow, following the music wherever it wants to take you.
My favourite place to improvise is in front of a live audience. There's something truly magical about being in the moment, sharing the music with others, and feeling the energy of the room. It's a beautiful experience that I wouldn't trade for anything.
